EU citizens do not need a visa for stays under 90 days. For other nationalities, a visa may be required. This is often available online or upon arrival. Check the website of your destination country's embassy in advance to prepare all necessary documents in time.
Belgrade (Serbia) and Sarajevo (Bosnia) are the best airports. They offer numerous international connections. Zagreb (Croatia) is another good point for travelers who want to explore the region. Check out direct flights to save time and money.
The local currency varies: Serbian dinar, Bosnian convertible mark, etc. Cash is widely used; credit cards are accepted in cities, but not everywhere. It is recommended to always have some cash for small purchases. ATMs are available in large cities.
Vaccinations are not mandatory, but a basic protection (e.g., against tetanus) is recommended. A travel insurance is advised to be covered in case of illness or accidents. Check if your insurance provides coverage abroad before you travel.
