Egypt Travel and Vacation – Good to know
Egypt requires a visa for entry. Many nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival or simply apply online. The e-Visa service makes the application easy. Make sure to do this before your trip to avoid any problems upon arrival at the airport.
Cairo Airport (CAI) is the largest and best-connected airport in Egypt. From here, you can easily fly to many other cities like Luxor and Hurghada. It's worth keeping an eye out for cheap domestic flights for a quick and convenient journey.
The local currency is the Egyptian Pound (EGP). Credit cards are accepted in large cities and tourist areas, but it is advisable to always have some cash on hand for smaller purchases. ATMs are also widely available, but check your bank's fees.
