Day 1: Arrival in the historic city of Patras
Your off-road journey begins in the historic city of Patras in Greece. After your arrival, you have some time to explore the city or relax before the adventure really begins. In the evening, we meet at the hotel, where we get in the mood for the upcoming adventure. Together, we discuss the route, the exciting challenges, and all the highlights that await us. It is the perfect start to a trip full of action, spectacular landscapes, and unforgettable experiences.
Day 2: Discovery tour of the Peloponnese
Early in the morning we start our exciting 4x4 journey and set off to traverse the Peloponnese peninsula on historic routes. With every mile, we dive deeper into the history of Greece, accompanied by spectacular views and wild off-road tracks. In the afternoon we reach the legendary Olympia, the birthplace of the first Olympic Games. Here we enter one of the most important archaeological sites in the world to explore the ancient ruins and immerse ourselves in the history of the Games. The visit to the Temple of Zeus and the ancient stadium where the first competitions took place will fascinate you. At the end of the day, a cozy hotel in the region awaits us, where we can end the day with good food and Greek hospitality.
Day 3: The Temple of Apollo and Cape Tainaron
Our 4x4 off-road journey takes us further along the ancient paths of the Peloponnese, where history and adventure meet. A true highlight of this leg is the visit to the Temple of Apollo at Bassae, an impressive UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved Greek temples. Day 4: Mystras and picturesque mountain villages
Today we are heading northeast towards the Peloponnese peninsula, where a varied route awaits us. At the end of the day, we reach a small mountain village where we will spend the night in a traditional guesthouse. Day 5: Waterways: Saronic Gulf - Gulf of Corinth
We leave the peninsula and cross the impressive Corinth Canal, which connects the Saronic Gulf and the Gulf of Corinth. By midday, we reach Delphi and visit the famous oracle at the foot of Mount Parnassus. We will also stay overnight in Delphi. Today we leave the peninsula and embark on an exciting stage of our off-road tour. This imposing waterway is a fascinating sight, and we enjoy the spectacular view of the narrow, artificially created waterway that has shaped the region for centuries. By midday, we arrive at historic Delphi, originally called Pytho, which once was considered the center of the world. At the foot of the majestic Parnassus mountain, we visit the world-famous oracle of Delphi, a significant religious and cultural center of ancient Greece. Here, amidst ruins and temples, we can immerse ourselves in the mystical atmosphere of this sacred place and experience the stories of the priests and the famous oracle sessions. At the end of the day, we check into our accommodation in Delphi, where we stay overnight in a cozy hotel.
Day 6: Drive through the Pindos Mountains
Today our journey continues and takes us through the impressive eastern Pindos mountains, where untouched nature, wild mountain roads and spectacular views of breathtaking valleys and peaks await us. This route is a true paradise for off-road adventurers seeking adventure away from the classic tourist trails. The steep mountain passes and remote paths challenge us and reward us with every curve and every elevation gain with a unique panoramic view. In the late afternoon we reach the charming town of Karpenisi, nestled in the midst of the green hills of the Pindos mountains. Here we spend the night in a cozy hotel on the outskirts, where we can relax after an eventful day. From the hotel we enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings and let the fascinating impressions of the mountains take effect on us.
Day 7: The Metéora Monasteries
In the morning, we continue our journey through the eastern Pindos Mountains, diving even deeper into the impressive mountain landscape. The challenging high-altitude trails and steep mountain passes challenge both the off-road vehicle and us, while we are rewarded with new views of the untouched land at every turn. The wild nature and untouched silence of this mountain range make this stage a true highlight of our off-road journey. In the late afternoon, we reach the world-famous Metéora monasteries, a true masterpiece of Byzantine architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These majestic monasteries, perched on enormous rocks, are one of the most spectacular landmarks in Greece. We visit the Monastery of the Holy Trinity, one of the most famous and impressive in the region. The architecture and the view from up here are simply overwhelming. After this cultural highlight, we continue to Kalambaka, a town at the foot of the Metéora rocks, where we spend the night in a cozy hotel.
Day 8: Tzoumerka National Park and Rock Monastery Kipina
Our tour takes us further west to the Tzoumerka National Park, a paradise for active vacationers that attracts more and more adventure seekers with its wild nature and unspoiled beauty. After a spectacular drive through the mountains – with impressive views of deep gorges, dense forests, and dramatic mountain peaks – we reach one of the highlights of the region: the rock monastery of Kipina, founded in 1212. This extraordinary monastery, which is directly built into the steep rocks, almost seems like part of nature itself and offers not only historical but also spiritual impressions amidst a breathtaking landscape. After this fascinating visit, we continue our journey and reach our accommodation in the region in the evening, where we can relax and reflect on the day in peace.
Day 9: Plaka Bridge and Mediterranean
On spectacular mountain paths, we continue our adventure through the fascinating Pindos mountain range. The impressive landscape, characterized by steep mountain slopes and unspoiled valleys, offers us always new, breathtaking views that make the ride even more exciting. A special highlight of this stage is the visit to the Plaka Bridge, which, with its imposing stone arch, is considered the largest of its kind in the Balkans. This architectural masterpiece spans majestically over the Arachthos River and is a true symbol of the craftsmanship and history of the region. In the late afternoon, we finally reach the Mediterranean, where we experience the transition from the wild mountains to the gentle waves of the sea. After an unforgettable route over mountain and valley, a cozy hotel right by the sea awaits us, where we can relax and wind down for the day. During a shared farewell dinner, we enjoy the fresh sea breeze and celebrate the end of a unique adventure that has taken us deep into the heart of Greece.
