The Ivato Airport (TNR) in Antananarivo is the best airport to fly to Madagascar. From here, you have access to domestic and international flights. There are also domestic flights to popular destinations like Nosy Be or Tamatave, making it easier for you to access off-road adventures. Be sure to plan ahead and book a transfer service in advance.

Local currency and payment methods

The local currency is the Ariary (MGA). Credit cards are accepted in larger cities and tourist spots, but it's advisable to have cash, especially in rural areas. Consider exchanging some ariary before your trip or withdrawing cash from an ATM to be well-prepared during your off-road travels.
