Introduction to the Sahara Adventure Trip for Endurists

The Sahara is the largest desert at nine million square kilometers - a seemingly inhospitable and equally fascinating space. In this Sahara adventure for single-cylinder enthusiasts, you have the chance to experience the desert adventure with a group of like-minded individuals and to experience motorcycle riding in the Sahara par excellence. Certainly, a week is too short for the desert, but it is definitely a good introduction to the adventure of Africa, which is NOT suitable for Enduro beginners! Those without experience in off-road Enduro should definitely first book the two-week adventure trip to Tunisia with appropriate Enduro and sand training. Since 1999, OVERCROSS® tour operator has stood for excellently organized and professionally guided motorcycle tours in Tunisia. Today, OVERCROSS® is the specialist for demanding Enduro tours in North Africa. With extensive experience in conducting challenging Enduro tours and expeditions, as well as excellent local knowledge of the Tunisian Sahara, OVERCROSS® offers its participants a safe and authentic off-road experience. Daily program: Motorcycle trips through Tunisia: Sport Enduro Adventure

Day 1: Flight from Europe to Tunisia:

As soon as you arrive at the airport, the fun ends! The adventure begins here! We pick you up with the donkey cart (or with the support vehicle ;-) ) from the airport and you ride on the loading area to your motorcycle, which we have previously transported to Tunisia. We drive to your motorcycle and after a cup of tea and a delicious dinner, it's off to the sleeping bag in the 1000-star hotel under the open sky between cow, dog, and wolf.

Day 2: Gravel Road and On-road Stage:

On the first long stage, we ride over the Dahr mountains to the edge of the Sahara. 1000 meters above the Chott el Djerid, we set up our camp for the night in a cave. A cup of tea and soup over the open fire. Luxury? ... Not at all! We are at the edge of the desert at the filming location of the movie 'The English Patient' - nothing is here: except for fantastic nature!

Day 3: On the Enduros towards the Desert.

On the Rommel track, we reach an outcrop of the Chott el Djerid salt lake with the Enduros. It gets hot and exciting at the landing site of Han Solo. Behind the scenes of 'Star Wars', the sun shines. We start with the sand riding training. In flat terrain, we familiarize ourselves with the first basics of sand riding: proper acceleration, shifting, and braking.

Day 4: Enduro Training Day in the Desert.

Proper steering, accelerating, drifting, and the feeling for power as well as one's own inadequacy is just as important a learning factor as reprogramming habits. Line judgement and posture are the essential points of today's day of fears. The eye for the line at 70%, mobility on the motorcycle, and steering with the gas thrust will be taught and experienced today in the basics. It's going uphill: the first dunes are 30 centimeters high, the last 30 meters!

Day 5: Your Tracks in the Sand.....

Enduro romance is when you, in scorching heat, crazily speed through an endless seeming salt lake. Before the trip, you were still reasonable and wouldn't have gone over 30 km/h here, let alone standing. Ensuring to hang on to the gas and properly shift your balance is today's exercise unit and simultaneously the daily stage. The last kilometers to the camp in civilization, we return on the road.

Day 6: Rock & Roll over the Dunes of the Sahara

Rüdi, on a later tour also called 'no fence', can tell many long stories about this day, where almost all participants will reach their personal limits.... We go through the large dune field on tracks, rutted paths across the Tunisian Sahara. A bath in the oasis is the ideal place to wind down the day and relax the muscles a bit.

Day 7: The Enduro Day:

Through sandy fields, trails, and roads across the Dahr mountains, we ride from the early morning hours until sunset back to civilization at the hotel by the sea. The last evening is experientially filled with desert dust at the bar and celebrated!

Day 8: Last Vacation Day & Return Flight

We load the motorcycles back onto the trailer, and the guide makes his way back home. Here, our paths temporarily part. We will see each other again 1000 kilometers away next weekend at OVERCROSS in Germany, where you will get the motorcycles back. Individual return flights for all participants. One last look at Tunisia before the plane leaves the African continent behind. Now everyone has a few hours to reflect on their experiences.
