Morocco Enduro Tours - Kasbah Royal Experience

Takeoff and goodbye, cool Europe: From Frankfurt, airlines such as Lufthansa, Royal Air Maroc, Air France, Iberia, TAP Portugal, Ryanair, and EasyJet fly daily in about three and a half hours to Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK), where you must "land" on Saturday between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM. A driver will take you from Menara Airport to our riad near the meeting place of the dead, where we will spend the evening. After sunset, we will experience the Jemaa el-Fnaa (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001) with its unique blend of tradition and modernity live. In this so-called meeting place of the dead, we will enjoy Tajine and Couscous on hard benches in one of the stalls among snake charmers, acrobats, musicians, beggars, and street performers under flickering lamps.

In Europe, winter is cold. Here in North Africa, we have dreamlike motorcycle tour temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees Celsius. We traverse the landscape of the Atlas Mountains, where majestic kasbahs throne on rocky outcrops. In such a kasbah, an elegant retreat from bygone times, you will feel surrounded by tranquility and luxury and be perfectly at ease with the guys while enjoying the breathtaking view of the surrounding valleys with a glass of wine.

We start the motorcycles early in the morning and zigzag through the city traffic heading south. Ahead lies the Middle Atlas. Passing traditional mountain villages of the nomads along the old caravan routes, we ride our enduros on the connecting stages that have been used for over 1000 years through the region. We find ourselves in the midst of a sensational geological history of continental drift that dates back to the formation of the Sahara about 7 million years ago. The little paths on road and gravel are geographically amazing, sensational enduro trails right through the Middle Atlas, past typical Moroccan mountain villages that usually formed in this region due to geological formations and the fertility of the agricultural surroundings.

After a hearty breakfast and a quick check-up of the motorcycles, we start today through the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Riding through the former routes of the salt caravans from Timbuktu, we will travel with our travel enduros through the gorges of the Middle Atlas to Lake Affe, where we can take a dip in the cold water. The relaxed and technically simple riding day ends in the fascinating dyeing city, Fes. Today we will stay in a small hotel in the middle of the old town, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, near the Medina, and after an exploration of the architectural treasures of the old city center near the dyehouse, we will enjoy our dinner.

Today is a typical on & off-road travel day, through one of the most well-known outdoor areas known for bird and animal watching. The enduro group crosses through the Ajdir National Park on long stages towards the Sahara on this day.

The whole country is a brilliant film set, with movies like Lawrence of Arabia (1962), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), Gladiator (2000), James Bond (1983-1997-2015), Babel (2006), Hidalgo (2004). Today is the day of the "Legends" On our route for today, we travel through the filming locations of legendary films, make a coffee stop at Spectre in "Ait Ben Haddou" and wait for Daniel Craig with the lovely Léa Seydoux to treat us to a round.

A cool enduro route takes us along the old supply stations and trade routes that were once vital strongholds for the caravans of the salt route. At various stations and strongholds of the old caravanserais, we will use the last hours of the journey for a bit of pure culture. Dusty, sweaty, and unshaven, we roll into the most fascinating city in Morocco: Marrakech! The enduro clothing will be put away, a jump into the pool, a good cold "target beer", and the last evening of this luxurious adventure on & off-road enduro journey can commence. The sun sets, "the last supper" is prepared, and we enjoy like in a painting by Leonardo da Vinci the last evening with wine, white....... and singing ;-)

Here are the corrections: The sun rises and warms our soul one last time on the motorcycle trip in Morocco. We sit with a hot cup of coffee and enjoy the last hours in North Africa. After a generous breakfast and farewells to the other motorcycle travelers, we head with the driver to Menara Airport (RAK), which is located 6 kilometers southwest of the capital Marrakech. Sweater out, down jacket on - it’s back to the fridge in Europe.
