The hotel is surrounded by rice fields, and in the area, there are several cozy cafés/restaurants as well as small boutiques.
Day 2 - Canggu - Stay
Upon your arrival in Bali, you will be greeted by our tour guide and transported by taxi bus to your hotel in Canggu. Here you can relax from the journey and possibly take a dip in the rooftop swimming pool, which offers a beautiful view of Brawa Beach, just a short walk away. The hotel is surrounded by rice fields, and in the area, there are several cozy cafés/restaurants as well as small boutiques.
Day 3 - Canggu - Lovina
After a restful night and breakfast, we will first go through some important things for this journey together. Especially participation in road traffic will be discussed in detail. We set off and ride through rice fields and terraces. Soon we leave the crowds and travel over narrow paths, small villages through the green hilly landscape in the southwest of Bali. We make a short stop at the beach and then continue north. The foothills of Bali's mountains have many small paths that show us the beauty of this tropical island. After a local lunch, we alternate between on-road and off-road riding up the mountains and then all the way down to Bali's north coast, where we arrive in the small town of Lovina. Our hotel is located 10 minutes from the center directly on the beach and has a beautiful swimming pool. For dinner, Indonesian food lovers can indulge immediately, as we can enjoy delicious local dishes, but also Western dishes are served here if needed.
Day 4 - Lovina - Sidemen
After breakfast, we travel to Singaraja, the old capital of Bali. The ride goes along narrow streets through villages, where the locals stare at us as they see Western tourists on motorcycles. Then we ride many curves up Mount Gunung Batur. Just before we reach the summit, we turn off and ride through wooded areas and narrow paths to the old volcanic crater. Here we will conquer the loose black lava sand with our enduros. We ride up to the crater rim to have lunch and enjoy the breathtaking view over Lake Batur with Bali's highest mountain, Gunung Agung, in the background. After lunch, we ride off-road down the mountain to Sidemen, known for its spectacular rice fields and terraces. Upon arrival, we take a drink on the terrace and enjoy these motorcycle tours.
Day 5 - Sidemen - Kuta (Lombok)
Today we leave Bali and take the ferry (about 4 hours) to cross over to Lombok. In the afternoon we ride via side roads from South Lombok through various kampungs, where the local population is searching for gold, towards the southern coast. The winding roads over the hills of Blongas, Bremi, and Pandaleman overlooking the Indian Ocean lead us to the surfer paradise of Kuta (Lombok), where we will spend the night. Kuta is a friendly, relaxed place with many small local establishments. Kuta Beach is just a few minutes walk from the hotel.
Day 6 - Kuta - Maluk (Sumbawa)
Today we continue along a stunning coastal road eastward, where salt is traditionally extracted from seawater. Keruak is the center of the region, where people from across the region come to market. We drive along the coastal road to the north. In Labuhan Lombok, we take the ferry (1 hour) to Sumbawa. Upon leaving the ferry, we ride over the hills of Sebunyil to South Sumbawa, where the town of Maluk is located. In Maluk, there is little tourism, except for a few surfers, so you will experience Sumbawa in its pure form.
Day 7 - Maluk - Sumbawa Besar
We get up early for today's long ride, most of which will be on unpaved roads through the southern part of Sumbawa and the area around Mount Jala. In this area, they are busy working the land with bulldozers and excavators to create a drivable asphalt road. Then we ride north over Mount Gerungan to arrive in Sumbawa Besar, the largest city (in relative terms) of Sumbawa. Despite the fact that the island of Sumbawa is developing slowly, we have a new and modern hotel here to Western standards.
Day 8 - Sumbawa Besar - Bima
For today, a long motorcycle journey is planned. The route leads in the morning along the azure coast with Moyo Island in the background. On well-paved roads with many beautiful curves, we ride through various villages and initially climb the mountain pass of Doro Wero in the afternoon, then pass through Dompu to reach Bima. We spend the night in the middle of Bima, opposite the local market hall.
Day 9 - Bima - Labuan Bajo (Flores)
At 5 o'clock today, the alarm goes off and at 6 o'clock, just as the sun rises, we are already on our motorcycles, set to ride over the mountain pass Doro Daria to Sape, where we take the early ferry to cross over to Flores. In Labuan Bajo, we will stay in a well-managed hotel on the hillside with a view of the Flores Sea. In the center, we can enjoy a drink and/or meal with a view of the harbor with many sailboats at anchor.
Day 10 - Labuan Bajo - Accommodation - Boat to Rinca
This day will be something very special, as we will visit the island of Rinca by boat, with the type of boat depending on the size of the group. On this island, you can take a walk with a breathtaking view of Flores, see the buffalo that still live in the wild, and also the Komodo dragons. On the way back, we will also have time for snorkeling. The Komodo archipelago is part of UNESCO, as the underwater world of this national park has unique fish species.
Day 11 - Labuan Bajo - Bajawa
After breakfast, we will get back on the motorcycles and enjoy riding today's stage through various mountains and hills. The area we ride through is very green, calm, and one curve leads into the next. After lunch in Ruteng, we ride over the mountains Ranaka, Leda, Lobobutu, and the Sawu Lake to reach Bajawa.
Day 12 - Bajawa - Moni
In the morning, we will first visit the traditional Ngada village. Then we continue first over various mountains and in the afternoon the coastal road towards the end, before driving back into the mountains and landing in the small town of Moni. Nearby are the 3 colored lakes of Kelimutu.
Day 13 - Moni - Riung
If you want to see the 3 colored lakes at sunrise, you need to get up at 3:30 a.m. and ride the 12-kilometer mountain road in the dark on a motorcycle! Then you must take a roughly 30-minute hike to finally arrive at 1640 meters above sea level and enjoy the sunrise and the 3 lakes with their own colors. After breakfast, we ride to Riung, which is located in the north. This part has a different landscape and is especially dry during the dry season. The middle part of the day is unpaved and far from civilization.
Day 14 - Riung - Stay
We will stay another day in Riung to admire the 17 Islands Marine Park by fishing boat. This protected area is unknown to tourists and very quiet. We will snorkel at various spots and for lunch, we will enjoy grilled fish on one of the tropical uninhabited islands.
Day 15 - Riung - Ruteng
Over the northern coastal road, of which a large part is still unpaved, we ride completely alone through the fascinating landscape of North Flores. Sporadically, we ride through a remote village, where the locals stare at us in surprise as foreigners pass by on motorcycles. The last two hours of the route, the road is paved and mountainous with breathtaking rice terraces, for which this region, called Manggarai, is rich.
Day 16 - Ruteng - Labuhan Bajo
Today’s route will take us in the opposite direction (see Day 9) and you will be amazed to see the area as you did not see it last time.
Day 17: Labuan Bajo – Bima (Sumbawa)
In the morning, we take the ferry over to Sumbawa. In the afternoon, we continue through the hilly area to Bima, where we will spend the night. Our hotel is located very close to the market – it’s definitely worth a visit!
Day 18 - Bima - Sumbawa Besar
We leave Bima and turn off after less than an hour's drive to explore the area around Kilo. Along the coast, the road quickly turns into a gravel road and later just a path. We ride into a series of villages, where the locals look at us with open mouths and the children wave enthusiastically. In the afternoon, we ride back to Sumbawa Besar on a well-paved coastal road.
Day 19 - Sumbawa Besar - Bayan (Lombok)
After a three-hour drive along the coastal road, we take the ferry to Lombok. Then we ride along the northern coastal road of this island. In this part, there is little traffic, so you can fully enjoy the scenery with Mount Gunung Rinjani in the background and the azure sea on the other side. We spend the night in Bayan, 600 meters against Mount Rinjani and overlooking the coast. Here we sleep in a wooden hut with a thatched roof among the rice terraces. From a natural swimming pool, you have a direct view of the surroundings and the restaurant. Delicious Indonesian or Western food is available.
Day 20 - Bayan - Stay
Today is a free day to relax, take a walk in the surroundings, or swim in the natural pool of the accommodation.
Day 21 - Bayan - Sanur (Bali)
We continue along the coastal road southward. Our last ride in Lombok takes us along small roads to the port, where we will return to Bali. After the ferry crossing in the evening, we go directly to our hotel in Sanur.
Day 22 - Sanur - Stay, Departure
The last day in Bali to relax by the pool on the rooftop of the hotel or at the beach with its white sand beaches and high waves, which are ideal for the many surfers who come here. In the evening, you will head to the airport.
