The city was declared the European Capital of Culture in 2007 together with Luxembourg and delights with a perfect mix of history, culture, and modern lifestyle. On the way there, we cross the beautiful Oltului Valley – a scenically impressive route where nature is still wild, primitive, and untouched. Here, wooded mountain slopes, rocky gorges, and clear rivers alternate – a dream route for motorcyclists with a sense for nature and tranquility. Upon arriving in Sibiu, we dive into the vibrant heart of this historical city. Cobblestoned streets, colorful facades, Gothic churches, baroque squares, and hidden courtyards. Sibiu is a place to marvel and enjoy. The city tells stories from the time of the Saxons and is still a cultural melting pot with Austrian-Hungarian flair today. We will spend the night in the midst of the old town, surrounded by architecture, history, and a charming, almost Mediterranean holiday atmosphere. The perfect place to unwind at the end of the day with a glass of local wine or a cozy walk.

Today we treat ourselves to a rest day in Sibiu, probably the most beautiful city in Romania! This city, which was once the center of the Transylvanian Saxons, was named one of the '8 most idyllic places to live in Europe' by Forbes – and for good reasons. Sibiu combines medieval charm, vibrant culture, and modern elegance like hardly any other city. Our day begins with a visit to the large marketplace, which forms the heart of the old town. This historic square, which has been the center of Sibiu since the 16th century, measures an impressive 142 meters in length and 93 meters in width – one of the largest squares in Transylvania. Here you can feel the pulse of the city and dive into the atmosphere of one of the region's most charming cities. At the northwestern corner of the square, the magnificent Brukenthal Palace stands, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture and one of Romania's most important Baroque monuments. The palace now houses the Brukenthal Gallery, which presents an impressive collection of European artworks from the 15th to 18th centuries – a true delight for culture and art lovers. Among the historic buildings and charming street cafés, there is plenty of time to enjoy the beauty of this medieval city, wander through winding alleys, and soak up the relaxed holiday atmosphere.
