Motorbike tour through Morocco. By motorbike from the royal city of Marrakech, over the High Atlas, through the oasis , over the Lac Iriki, past the Erg Chegaga to the dunes of the Erg Chebbi in the south, this round trip combines the highlights of Morocco. A motorbike adventure, also for experienced touring enduro riders.
Offroad through Morocco
An outdoor and enduro motorbike tour in the footsteps of the alchemist in Morocco, relaxed and strenuous, adventurous and romantic, cold and hot all in one. Morocco knows how to draw travellers into the spell of the Orient. At the latest when the muezzin calls you to prayer in the morning and the warm African sun rises, you realise that Europe is far behind you. Snow-covered mountains over 4000 m high, cedar forests, green oases with date palms on the mountain rivers of the Atlas and the Sahara with picture-book dunes on your doorstep. A mixture that leaves no room for boredom for the enduro motorbike traveller. This motorbike or enduro tour can be designed interactively, as we mainly stay overnight outdoors, travel off the road and no fixed hotel bookings are planned. Due to the rapidly developing infrastructure, there will always be stretches of road on this motorbike tour which we will drive along in a new way. For us, it is important that this off-road Morocco tour includes adventure and not the plannable all-inclusive holiday experience.
Start and end of this motorbike tour is Marrakech where we pick you up from the airport. Afterwards we load your motorbike from the transporter and set up our equipment in peace and quiet. We start the Morocco tour with a connecting stage on the road, which takes us to the warmer south, from where we will be mainly off-road. We set up our camps on wide plains and enjoy the breathtaking landscape. On small tracks and bumpy roads, we ride our enduros through the impressive country and get a deep insight into the fascinating adventure of Morocco.
Itinerary
Motorbike Tour Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech
Depending on when your flight lands at Marrakech International Airport (RAK), we will pick you up in our support vehicle and take you to our camp. The first day is spent relaxing, getting to know each other, discussing the tour and preparing our equipment and bikes to start the next day on our first stage south.
Motorbike trip day 2: Marrakech - Taliouine
Today we head south and cross the High Atlas on our enduros. The pass road, which unfortunately has been asphalted in the meantime, is a good start to get a feeling for the motorbike after the winter break. Once we arrive in Taliouine, we set up the camp, cook together and look forward to tomorrow, when we go offroad for the first time and head to the oasis Foum Zguid!
Motorbike Tour Day 3: Taliouine- Foum Zguid
On the way to Foum Zguid we cover our first off-road kilometres. On our way is always enough time for a rest and a Thé à la Menthe with the particularly hospitable Nomads
Motorbike trip Day 4: Foum Zguid - Circuit - Foum Zguid
Today we ride a circuit near Foum Zguid and pass one of the military bases at the entrance of the track. From here we start the circuit around the table mountain Jbel Wadi. Stony and sandy passages alternate until we are back at our camp in Foum Zguid in late afternoon.
Motorbike trip day 5: Foum Zguid - Erg Chegaga
Early in the morning we pass the military base and drive towards the dried-up salt lake Lac Iriki. The track offers a wide variety of surfaces, like hard stony tracks and wide flat plains at Lac Iriki. A few small dune fields await us a little later at the large dune area of Erg Chegaga, where we will set up camp for the night. We will not drive into the large dune area but only cross smaller sandy foothills. Those who want to can take a small diversions over one of the larger dunes, but those with more than 600 cc should stay away from the larger dunes.
Motorbike trip Day 6: Erg Chegaga - Mhamid - Zagora
Today, our route takes us via Mhamid to the oasis town of Zagora, which has 40,000 inhabitants and is much larger than Foum Zguid. Before Mhamid, however, we have to fight our way through a 10 km long dune field on our motorbikes, which will take us one or even three hours, depending on the group dynamics and / or riding ability. After arriving in Mhamid, we have a tea, a snack and a short break for the motorbikes and continue on the road to Zagora.
Motorbike trip day 7 & 8: Zagora - Erg Chebbi
From Zagora, after a few kilometres on the road, we head back into the outback. The track to Erg Chebbi, Morocco's second large dune area, takes two days and so we spend the night in an oasis in a beautiful canyon. The terrain can get challenging on the way and so you and your motorbike are put to the test once again. Deep sand tracks, wide plains and hard stone passages leaves no wishes unfulfilled, and when you finally arrive at Erg Chebbi, you have really earned a swim in the pool of our desert camp.
Motorbike trip Day 9: Erg Chebbi - Circuit - Erg Chebbi
Today is at your own disposal. If you have not yet had enough of riding, you can join us on the bikes for a circuit around the nearby Jbel Bega, which is close to the Algerian border, go on a dune hike, visit the small town of Merzouga or spend the day in the camp and enjoy the view of the dunes.
Motorbike trip Day 10: Erg Chebbi - Alnif - Tinghir
We leave the Erg and say goodbye to the impressive sea of dunes. We ride to the town of Alnif, from where a beautiful off-road pass leads to Tinghir. From here we have the perfect entrance to the two famous gorges Dadès and Todgha the next day.
Motorbike trip Day 11: Tinghir - Boumalne Dadès
From Tinghir, today's route leads us through the asphalted Todgha gorge and then, depending on weather conditions and power reserves, over the 2990m high Aghoudal Pass or over the somewhat lower cross connection into the Dadès Gorge. Both connections are unpaved roads and provide the necessary off-road variety on this day for our riders and bikes.
Motorbike trip day 12: Boumalne Dades - Nekob circuit - N'kob
As the connecting pass from Boumalne Dades to Nekob has already been asphalted, we have planned a circular route for this day, starting and ending in N'kob, so that we don't miss out on the off-road technical aspects today. We drive past bizarre rock formations through the area of Jbel Sarhro, a foothill of the High Atlas of volcanic origin. Towards late afternoon we drive back to N'Kob where we spend the night in a nomad camp.
Motorbike Tour Day 13: N'Kob - Ouarzazate
From Nekob, we take a new road to the town of Ouarzazate, known as the location of many films. Depending on when we arrive, it is possible to visit the film studios where films such as Gladiator, The Mummy or Kingdom of Heaven were shot.
Motorbike Tour Day 14: Ouarzazate - Marrakech
Unfortunately, today we have already reached the last day of our Enduro adventure tour. However, one last highlight is still on the programme, the fortified town of Aït-Ben-Haddou, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has been used as a film set for over 20 Hollywood productions. After a short tour of the village, we drive back to Marrakech over the Tichka Pass and, once back at camp, toast to the past adventure. We strap the motorbikes back onto the trailer because the next day we have to say goodbye to Morocco.
Motorbike Tour Day 15: Marrakech - Journey Home
After a last breakfast together, we say goodbye and take you to the airport in the escort vehicle.

Which bike choose?
When we talk about Enduro motorbike tours, we don't mean Hardenduro but somewhere between 500 and 1200 cc. Of course you can join this tour with a Suzuki 350 or KTM 450 EXC, but you should keep in mind that we will cover more than 2000 kilometres on this off-road motorbike tour and will not only be riding in hard terrain. On the other hand, you can of course also take part in the tour with your 1250 BMW GS or KTM 1290 Adventure, but you should also bear in mind that such a heavy and big enduro bike has to be controlled in rough terrain and especially in sand. Motorbikes of this type are usually advertised as extremely off-road capable, but they are only as good as their rider, and due to the size and weight of the motorbikes, the rider quickly reaches his limits in rough terrain, unless he is a professional rider. A realistic assessment of your riding ability is therefore essential to avoid unpleasant surprises along the way. This tour is therefore not for road riders. We recommend enduros / touring enduros around 600 cc, such as a 690 Enduro or 660 Ténéré, which are a good compromise.
