Reisebeschreibung - Was erwartet Dich?

Diese Motorradreise durch Honduras führen wir nur auf Anfrage für Gruppen ab 4 Teilnehmern durch.

Honduras bietet all das, was das Herz eines jeden Endurofahrer höher schlagen läßt: Gebirgige Schotterpisten mit Bergnebelwäldern im Innern des Landes bis hin zu Dschungeltrails und sandigen off road Strecken entlang der palmenumsäumten Karibikküste. Außerdem ein ganzjähriges tropisches Klima, das sie dazu verleitet, das T-Shirt erst abends zu wechseln. Ihr werdet feststellen, daß sich die Bevölkerung extrem freundlich gegenüber Touristen verhält. Honduras ist noch nicht vom Tourismus entdeckt, hat also viel von seiner Ursprünglichkeit erhalten. Das macht die Tour so interessant.

Höhepunkt dieser Motorradreise sind:

Die kurvenreiche Piste entlang des Flusses "Rio Cangrejal", hinauf zum Nationalpark "Pico Bonito". Die Strecke ist umgeben von dichter tropischer Vegetation und mehreren kristallklaren Naturschwimmbecken, in denen wir ein erfrischendes Bad im kristallklaren Wasser nehmen werden.

Sandige Pisten in der Nähe von Tela zum Garifunadorf Tournabe, direkt am weißen Karibikstrand - Karibik pur !

Eindrucksvolle Fahrt entlang riesiger Ölpalmen - und Bananenplantagen und möglicherweise Besichtigung einer Verpackungsstation ( nicht garantiert ) .

La Ceiba: die kleine Hafenstadt ist bekannt durch das pulsierende Nachtleben in den vielen Strandbars mit seinen afro-karibischen Rhythmen.

Die palmenumsäumte Karibikküste von Trujillo. Hier landete Kolumbus im Jahre 1502 zum erstenmal an honduranischer Küste, wo auch der berüchtigte Pirat William Walker seine Spuren hinterlassen hat. Es liegt in einer wunderschönen, von Kokospalmen umgebenen Bucht am Karibischen Meer und lädt mit seinen weißen Sandstränden zum Baden und Relaxen ein.
Eine gebirgige Schotterstrecke geht bis auf 1800m hoch, mit Blick auf die verlassene Silbermine von El Rosario und endet in Tegucigalpa (d.h.Silberhügel), der Hauptstadt des Landes - in der einst im großen Stil Silber und Gold abgebaut wurde.

Auf Wunsch Besuch einer Tabakfabrik in Santa Rosa de Copan. Hier werden die "Havannas" noch per Hand gedreht.

Der Lago de Yohoa,einer tiefblauen Gebirgslagune mit dichter feuchttropischer Regenwaldvegetation und dem Wasserfall Pulhapanzak, dem schönsten Wasserfall des Landes mit einer Kaskade von 40m inmitten tropischer Umgebung.

Die Besichtigung der berühmten Maya Ruinen von Copan - mit der der längsten Hieroglyphentreppe aller Mayaorte - ist sicherlich ein unvergessliches Erlebnis.



Straßenzustand: 80 Prozent asphaltiert, meist kurvenreiche Berg- und Passstraßen, in den Ebenen auch mal länger geradeaus; 20 Prozent je nach Wetterlage gute bis schlecht präparierte Schotter- und Lehmpisten

Motorräder: Yamaha XT 600 E

Fahrkönnen: Ein Motorrad sollte auf der Straße sicher beherrscht werden. Enduro-Erfahrung ist nicht zwingend erforderlich, Schotterpassagen dürfen aber keinerlei Probleme aufkommen lassen

Klima: an der Küste heiß und tropisches Klima, mit hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit, auf der Hochebene sehr angenehmes warmes, trockenes Klima, nachts kann es dort im Winter aber auch kühl werden.

zB Tauchen und schnorcheln auf den Bay Islands

Nur ungefähr 30km vor der honduranischen Karibikküste liegen die Bay Islands - eine der interessantesten Tauch und Schnorchelparadiese am zweitlängsten Korallenriff der Erde.

Wir haben uns die Insel Roatan ausgewählt , das mit seinen weißen Sandstränden und Kokospalmen ein idealer Ort zum Relaxen und Erleben der Unterwasserwelt ist. Schon mit einfacher Schnorchelausrüstung ist die Erkundung des Riffs ein unvergeßliches Erlebnis.

In West End Village, einem kleinen Ort an der Nordseite der Insel, stehen ihnen einige Hotels für eine Verlängerung ihres Urlaubes zur Verfügung. Der Ort selber bietet viele Möglichkeiten zur Abwechslung: verschiedene Restaurants und Bars, direkt am Strand, Tauchschulen, Souvenirläden, Mietwagen, Fahrrad und Motorradverleih.

The Caribbean Motorcycle Tour is an adventurous trip designed for those who are interested in a multifaceted tour including biking and river rafting as well as seeing the local culture and history. We are also into meeting and partying with the locals and some beach relaxation.
The Mayan temples in Copan will cover the local culture and history. The Rio Cangrejal outside of La Ceiba offers worldclass rafting. The small porttown of La Ceiba and Tela with its nightlife is well known for partying with the locals and the Bay Islands is a perfect place for relaxing on coconut framed beaches.

Routing
Day 1: Arrival at San Pedro Sula
Transfer from airport into town. Enjoy the tropical atmosphere of the hotel while given all the information about the tour and getting familiar with the motorcycles. Overnight in San Pedro Sula.

Day 2: San Pedro Sula - Copan Ruinas ( 160 km )
We head off to Copan Ruinas – the place of the Mayan ruins famous for the ballcourt, the longest hieroglyphic stairways and the rosalila temple. We will tour the ruins in the afternoon with a specialized guide. Overnight in Copan Ruinas.

Day 3 : Copan Ruinas – Lago de Yohoa ( 250 km )
We ride back to La Entrada and stay on pavement towards San Pedro Sula. At La Ceibita we turn off to Santa Barbara passing a mountainous road to Lago de Yoho splendidly set among tropical vegetation. We will stop at the lake for lunch where many little restaurants offer a beautiful view overlooking the lake. Spend the afternoon just relaxing at the lake. Overnight at Lago de Yohoa.

Day 4 : Lago de Yohoa – Tela ( 160 km )
After breakfast we take a trip on a gravel road to the highest waterfall of Honduras called „Pulhapanzak" with a magnificient cascade of 40m . It is located in a kind of park with tropical plants and there is a place to swim in the river. After lunch at our hotel we are heading towards the Caribbean coast on a highway to Tela . Tela is right on the beach, so enjoy the most beautiful sandy beaches in the afternoon. Overnight in Tela.

Day 5 : Tela – La Ceiba ( 125 km )
Scenic ride on sandy roads along the beaches of the Caribbean Sea to „Miami" village. Here is the entrance of the National Park „Punta Sal" , created to protect rare and endangered animals like the white faced monkey, ocelot and the manatee. We can leave the motorcycles behind and take a boatride in a motorized dugout canoe into the „Laguna de los micos" . On the way back we will visit the „Lancetilla Botanical Park " , founded by the United Fruit Company in 1926 to grow a vast collection of tropical fruit trees and plants. After lunch in Tela we will hit the main road to La Ceiba. Overnight at a jungle lodge in the Cangrejal valley near La Ceiba.

Day 6: Pico Bonito Mountains
A short ride into the "Pico Bonito" mountains takes us to an impossibly green canyon with jungle scenery. From there we follow a winding dirt road along the "Rio Cangrejal." And on the way back we take a dip in the crystal clear water. This trip offers spectacular views: a waterfall plunging more than 300 feet from the canyon walls and rapids sliding around sculptured granite boulders.Here you can take exceptional whitewater rafting experience . Overnight in our jungle lodge.

Day 7: La Ceiba - Trujillo
We ride for an hour and stop at a little roadside pullover for our next exhilarating activity : “canopy tours” offered in the rainforest. You are hooked up to “zip lines” that run between platforms about 80 feet up in the trees with a great view of the valley and the deep blue Caribbean Sea . Then we continue on the highway before we turn into a dirt road until we meet the highway to Trujillo. Trujillo was the first capital of Honduras in the year 1525. It was here that Christopher Columbus landed in 1509 and the pirate William Walker was executed. Overnight outside of Trujillo in Campamento, a small lodge with bungalows right on the beach.

Day 8: Santa Fe and Campamento Beach
In the morning we visit colorful villages of the "Garifunas" (black descendants of the African slaves) where life has remained virtually unchanged for centuries. The dirt road passes through many little rivers and during the rainy season we might actually get stuck in the mud! We will have lunch at the comedor "Caballero" in Santa Fe where Pete, a former cook on a cruise liner, will serve the best kingfish, lobster or shrimp. In the afternoon, relax on the beautiful beaches of Trujillo by swimming, snorkeling or just basking in the sun. Overnight in Campamento.

Day 9: Ride back to La Ceiba - End of the tour
and departure to your international flight
